Week 3

Time to start crossing your fingers! You can sometimes detect pregnancy as early as the third week.

Signs of Early Pregnancy

The pregnancy test might not show it quite yet, but you may: experience sore breasts, get cramps, light spotting, get tired more easily, get darker nipples (especially if you’re already light-skinned), morning sickness/nausea, bloating, more frequent urination, headaches, food cravings, constipation, mood swings, and higher resting body temperature. Wait, what did you sign up for? Luckily, it’s all worth it in the end.

Get a Pregnancy Test

There are many at-home pregnancy tests available that can produce results as early as week after your first missed period. Morning readings can be more accurate. Below is Amazon’s best-selling test; though they’re all basically the same, with a 97% accuracy rate. You can also take advantage of their automatic re-delivery until you get a positive test.

Learn About Foods to Avoid

These can include: unpasteurized dairy, big fish like salmon/swordfish/tuna (which are high in mercury), raw food (eggs, meat, and fish), medicinal teas, and, as always, alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine.
